Pye Jirsa is a Southern California-based wedding and portrait photographer, photography educator, and entrepreneur. He is the co-founder of Lin and Jirsa Photography, co-founder of SLR Lounge, and the creator of Visual Flow Lightroom presets. Over a career spanning more than 15 years, Pye has built one of the most recognized names in professional photography education and one of the highest-rated wedding photography studios in Southern California.
Photography Career
Pye began photographing weddings in 2008. Over his career he has shot more than 300 weddings, developing the real-world systems and workflows that now form the foundation of his educational programs and products. Lin and Jirsa Photography — the studio he co-founded with Chris Lin and Justin Lin — operates as a seven-figure business shooting over 1,000 client commissions per year across weddings, portraits, and commercial work in Southern California.
Lin and Jirsa Photography has been recognized as one of the best wedding photography studios in Los Angeles and named a Profoto Legend of Light — an honor given to a small group of photographers globally recognized by Profoto for outstanding skill and contribution to the professional photography community.
Education and Speaking
Pye is one of the most active educators in professional photography. He has presented on stage at WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) and PPA (Professional Photographers of America), two of the largest professional photography conferences in the world. He has served as an online educator for CreativeLive, Fstoppers, Adorama, MagMod, Profoto, and Canon.
His YouTube educational content has accumulated over 20 million views across channels covering lighting, posing, editing, and photography business strategy. Pye co-founded SLR Lounge in 2008 — one of the world’s leading photography education platforms reaching over 50,000 photographers monthly. Visual Flow Presets
In 2019, Pye co-created Visual Flow — a Lighting Condition-Based Development system for Lightroom built in partnership with DVLOP. Rather than organizing presets by mood or aesthetic, Visual Flow organizes every preset around the specific lighting condition it was designed for: soft light, hard light, backlit, tungsten, HDR, mixed light, and more.
