What are presets?
In Adobe Lightroom, presets are a set of saved settings that can be applied to a single image or a set of images. Lightroom presets give the user a shortcut to a certain look or style.
After you install Lightroom presets, you can use them in the develop module of Lightroom. As you edit your images, you can click a preset and have all of the predetermined settings applied to the photo.
Presets are used for all genres of photography, and they have the potential of saving the user significant time in editing. They also help a photographer create consistency in his or her work. Even with Lightroom Presets, a photo editor should know the basics of Lightroom since the preset does not always get to the exact look and style that the photographer intended. So while presets can get you close, you will still need to make final adjustments before you export the photo.
